How often do we try to take charge of our life just to find NOTHING works?

Or even when it works well enough, are we ever free from concerns about tomorrow and how we will handle what comes up next?

I just went through a catastrophic storm in which I lost control of EVERYTHING.  But, what a surprise: my soul lost control of NOTHING.  it was worth all the material loss to discover that.  And life has become transformed in every way imaginable.  Not only with capability but with compassion and community.  Before the storm, the only people I knew locally were the ones who were part of service personnel such as postal workers, grocery clerks, and pharmacy staff.  I was on hand-waving terms with all our neighbors, but I didn’t really know them.  Now we are all family.  In so many ways we support each other and share life.  just today I got a knock on our door by a volunteer from a church charity store, “The Blessing Shop.” He told me sadly that the Blessing shop was demolished by the storm and they had nowhere to function or put their inventory.  He noticed that I have a LARGE warehouse type barn that didn’t seem to be used.  So he asked if they could move the Blessing Shop in there.  I was elated. It made me feel so good and so included in our community.

SO WHAT HAS CHANGED?

Very simply, my soul is now in charge.  What a surprise!  Because of the work I do, because of my connection with Jeshua, because of the inspirations I convey to others, I thought it was in charge all along.  But what I discovered is that my soul was a worthy servant to the work I had chosen to do in this world…so that I could be “in the world” but not “of it.”

That’s a big difference, because it still allowed me to have all the problems from which I needed to learn and achievements from which I needed to gain confidence.  But on August 25th, sitting in prayer under the thundering winds of Hurricane Harvey I surrendered all human power.  Never before have I experienced such an overwhelming display of natural forces so great I could not imagine my body in their midst without extreme protection.  Hundred year old trees were uprooted and turned upside down, their roots leaning against our house.  Windows were blown open with raging winds that drenched our house in a light film of water everywhere.  No lights of any kind were visible anywhere.  And all of us who stayed were warned there would be no protection of any kind by police, ER, 911, or any official rescue force.  We were abandoned to circumstance.  When dawn was breaking and the winds subsided enough that we could look out the windows, the world we saw was not the world left behind only one day ago.  Its impossible to describe.  Not just the destruction but, everything had changed, and would never be the same again.  My world had died, and I simply let go.  At that moment my soul took over.

Most people have to physically die to experience what I did in the coming days.  But my revelations would confirm that if I do nothing more in this life, to understand what just happened to me, to make it comprehendible to others, and above all safe and commendable would be worth all I had given to have it.

This is a subject that calls for much greater understanding than we have ever had before.

“My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.”  Psalms 49:3

It has often been told about Jeshua that he said: “I am in the world, but not of the world.”  However, that is not exactly his teaching.  Many people, myself included, have turned that thought into informal conversation without ever realizing it was not exactly what he said.  It calls for a much deeper understanding, which we will examine in Lesson 1.

THE QUESTION IS HOW CAN WE GET THE SOUL TO MANAGE OUR LIFE, when the demands of life are so filled with story, predicament, challenge and consequence; when the soul sees none of that. I really believe this is why we do not count on our soul’s greater wisdom and guidance more. We think the soul will find our problems in life trivial and lay aside concerns simply for the peace that faith can bring.   Nothing could be further from the truth. But it’s hard for us to believe, and even harder than you think to implement the soul’s power into problems of the world.

In the midst of worldly demands, we forget this so easily. In the world one event leads to another, and each determines whether we qualify for success or tribulations. But in the landscape of the soul, and on the path it travels, none of this is a factor. Our soul has all the answers. It’s just allowing us the right opportunity for discovery. So what do we do? Where is the key that unlocks the door? The first thing to find is the door itself. Have we been staring at a wall thinking it was the door? First our illusions must be dropped like veils hiding the light of heaven. Once we find the door, it opens easily.

Don’t believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you’ll see the way to fly. Richard Bach

All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.  Galileo Galilei

Here is a passage from Jeshua that is also very relevant to what you will discover in Lesson Two.

Treasures in Heaven

Matthew 6:19-21.  19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

ONLY OUR SOUL HAS THE WISDOM TO KNOW THIS.  Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.  Marie Curie
