Himalayan Cedar Wood Pure Botanical Essence is the most lovely and sacred cedar of all and is from the high country of Nepal. This is the cedar oil used for temple incense by Tibetan Buddhists. It is rich, sweet, woody and almost balsamic. It has a gentle and complex aroma that works well in blends without overpowering the other fragrances to which it is added. As a single scent it is also gentle, subtle, and very high energy. Cedar is recognized for its calming, purifying effects, and its benefits to the skin and underlying tissue.
Cedarwood has been known since antiquity for its strength, and it was the wood that Solomon chose to build the Temple in Jerusalem. It is known as ‘the tree of life’ and the essential oil is believed to promote courage and strength. It is reputed to be the oil that David anointed himself with before fighting Goliath.
The essential oil is steam-distilled from the wood chips and sawdust left over from the wood used for construction and furniture. It has been used for centuries for its aromatic scent and is particularly popular for use with men!
Himalayan Cedar is the lightest and sweetest of all cedar species and is generally considered a finer and safer oil to use.
